A Support Group for Friends, Families & Partners

Supporting someone who is enduring fertility treatments can bring about its own challenges. Many experience self-doubt about how to provide assistance and struggle to find helpful resources.

Our pilot support group provides a safe place for individuals who are in the position of supporting a loved one going through infertility. 

​

So whether you're a friend, partner, or family member, join us to learn how to lend a helping hand—and have your own safe space to explore what you're going through, too!

PROGRAM
OVERVIEW

  • ​LIVE weekly sessions held every week for five weeks

  • Enjoy from the comfort of your own home

  • Presented by a psychotherapist who has trained with leading trauma expert Bessel Van der Kolk (author of the #1 New York Times Bestseller The Body Keeps the Score)

  • Limited to a maximum of 7 participants to foster in-depth, hands-on learning and connection among group members

Week One: Naming & Processing Emotions
 

  • Learn techniques from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to help identify emotions and strategies to process them in healthy ways

  • Learn about factors that can intensify discomfort rather than alleviate it

  • Unlock the power of evidence-based techniques to help you feel more grounded 

Support Group

Week Five: Putting It All Together
 

  • Learn how to incorporate newfound, effective strategies into your daily life

  • Gain additional practice with implementing techniques from the program

  • Review learnings with like-minded individuals

  • Create your unique plan to continue supporting your mental health and overall wellness

DETAILS

  • $90 + HST per 2-hour session

  • Each session contains 30 minutes of education/teaching, then 1.5 hours of sharing, discussion, and group support 

  • We reserve the right to cancel any group due to low enrolment 

  • Hosted by Rachel Sunda, psychotherapist and former yoga instructor & vocal teacher

  • Open to all genders and all individuals who are experiencing infertility or fertility-related struggles 

  • Covered by insurance (please confirm with your particular benefits provider that you have coverage for services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist)

  • Explore how your fertility journey has impacted your self-image and identity—and how to reconnect with your values and purpose

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Rachel Sunda is a psychotherapist who specializes in working with individuals and couples who have experienced grief and trauma. In addition to her knowledge of psychotherapy, Rachel utilizes skills from the worlds of yoga and vocal coaching to help provide a truly holistic approach when helpful. 

Rachel has trained with some of the world's leading trauma experts and brings a warm, kind-hearted attention to each session, and a strong passion and sense of humour.
